Hooves on the Path

Pony plods for first-timers, woodland treks for confident riders, and a stable that picks the horse for the rider — not the other way around.

Riding a horse for the first time is a brilliant thing to do on holiday. Riding one through 1,200 acres of Galloway woodland, with the loch glinting through the trees, is even better. Our on-site stables run rides for every level, from led pony walks for tiny first-timers to longer treks for riders who know what they’re doing.

We pair every rider to a horse our team knows well — calm and patient for beginners, with a bit more spark for the experienced. Hard hats provided. Bring sturdy shoes; jodhpurs are useful but not essential.
